Cycle Speedway coming on Sky Sports

SKY SPORTSĀ  CYCLE SPEEDWAY COVERAGE

Sky Sports have been forced into a late change in programming content for next week which entails that the eagarly awaited first showing of the 2011 Wilco British Cycle Speedway final from Norwich has been moved. The first showing will still go out accross the nation on Tuesday 29th November, on the Sports Unlimited programme, at the slightly earlier time of 4pm on Sky Sports 3.
The full updated dates and times of the broadcasts are:
Tuesday 29th November 2011 at 1600 (Sky Sports 3) and 2400 (Sky Sports 4). The action is repeated on Wednesday 30th November at 1200 (Sky Sports 2). A further showing will be aired on Monday 5th December at 02.30, on the main Sky Sports 1 channel.
Explaining the reasoning behind the programme re-schduling, a Pro-Active TV executive, producers of Sports Unlimited, today told Joe McLaughlin, the Coventry CSC member who originated and brokered the filming contract, “Unfortunately, Sky Sports will sometimes reschedule programming, generally as a result of `live` output transmissions. This is something that is out of our hands. We would like to say again that we are delighted with the content of the Cycle Speedway footage and we are sure the many devotees of the sport will be pleased with our coverage”.
Joe Mclaughlin said “The TV people kindly contacted me today to explain matters, which of course we (the sport) understand. Live TV is of course what Sky Sports is primarily about and live coverage therefore takes preference. We now have the coverage spread out around all the Sky Sports platforms, ensuring a wider reach. The coverage is also going to many overseas territories, of which we shall know the exact details shortly”.
Seperate from the new Sky Sports TV timings, McLaughlin has confirmed progress has been made to look at potential future coverage. Further details of this will be released next week, after the first broadcast of the British Final coverage has been aired
