You have updated the Filton Cycle Speedway website. Does this mean that you are now going to promote the sport in the Filton area? If so how do you intend to do this?

It does mean that there is every intention of promoting the sport as a few, mainly one person, has been trying to do over the past year and since the previous club fell apart.
I think that we start with a meeting of interested people to see if we can re-form the club and then get out again into schools, youth clubs etc. plus being at events like the festival to promote the sport.
The track has the support of British Cycling nationally and the regional executive of the cycle speedway league who are planning some regional events to help to promote the sport and the track.
I hope that the new Town Council will see it as an asset, that helps with getting young people active and positive and help with it’s promotion so that it can go from strength to strength as the East Newport club has just over the bridge.

Hello all ,
Filton Cylce speedway club are trying very hard indeed to get back into the South Wales and South West Leagues. We have overthe last year had a few training matches and also a training academy for which 37 riders from various teams from all overthe country.
We feel thatif given the right support we can ahhieve the rigth to get back as a Region Of Bristol which canput a Fantastic Club and team together ..We arelooking for help towards this not only from Filton Council but from local residents and others from the Filton Area.
This Club could be up there with some of the best clubs in the country if given the right help and support.
Over the last year we have been working very hard to achieve this , Its not been without some negative comments from some people who see this Track as a waste of money and do not see what it can do for the community and the youngsters .
I would listen to any ides anyone as towards the re building of the club .
